Down-stack only · cups start stacked

How to play

Up-stack every pile into a pyramid, then down-stack them all back, as fast as you can.

  • Swipe UP ↑ on the glowing pile to build it up.
  • Swipe DOWN ↓ to bring it back down.
  • Go in order, left to right (or start from the right end and go right to left).
  • Bigger piles take more swipes: a 3 takes 1, a 6 takes 2, a 10 takes 3.
  • Wrong pile or wrong direction = fumble: +0.50s and the cups wobble.
  • The clock starts on GO and stops when the last cup lands.

The Cycle: 3-6-3, which down-stacks into 6-6, which down-stacks into 1-10-1, which finishes back in 3-6-3.

Down-stack only (Swipe, Hands and Drag): the cups start already stacked, so you just take them down. Separate best times and leaderboards.

The grey bar is your personal-best ghost. Beat it!

Hands mode

Every cup is one press, with the correct hand. Tap the LEFT or RIGHT pad (or the left/right half of the screen; F/J or ←/→ on a keyboard).

  • Pick your start hand above the stage list. Right: you lead with your right hand and work left to right (how most right-handed stackers do it). Left: everything is mirrored, so you lead with your left hand and work right to left.
  • The glowing spot shows the next cup. Cups on the side you start from are your start hand's, and cups on the far side belong to the other hand.
  • A cup in the middle (tops of pyramids, single cups) goes to the hand you didn't just use, so you keep alternating.
  • When signs are on, an L/R badge floats above the pile you're working on (always on top, never hidden by cups), and the pad you need glows. "Blind" stages take both away.
  • Each pile has a wobble meter. Cups higher up shake it more, and so does going too fast. Over the top and the pile topples: +1.00s and you rebuild that pile.
  • Wrong hand = a slip: the pile shakes and your hands freeze for a moment.
  • Piles go in order from your starting side. "Mix-up" stages jumble the order, so follow the glow. "Back to front" stages run the piles the other way from usual. In "Sudden death" stages, one topple ends the run.
  • Beat the stage times for ★, ★★ or ★★★. Stars and bests count for the stage whichever hand you start with.

Drag mode

Move every cup yourself, like real cups. Press and hold the cup with the dotted ring, drag it, and let go on the dotted spot. Close enough snaps it in.

  • Up-stack: each pile starts as a nest on its left spot. Lift the top cup off, put it to the right, then keep going until the pyramid is built. A single cup just needs a tap to flip it.
  • Down-stack: lift the cups off the pyramid from the top and drop each one back on the nest.
  • Piles go left to right. Only the ringed cup can be picked up.
  • Drop it in the wrong place and it springs back. That's a slip: no penalty, just lost time.
  • No countdown and no StackMat: the clock starts the moment you grab the first cup and stops when the last cup lands.

StackMat timer

This works like a real competition timer. It's on for Hands mode and off for Swipe mode by default; switch it with the ⏱ button above the stage or event list.

  • Put both thumbs on the two pads at the bottom. The light goes red, then green after half a second.
  • The clock starts the moment you lift a thumb. Lift while it's still red and it's a false start, so just try again.
  • Stack as normal. When the last cup is done the clock keeps running until you slap both pads at the same time.
  • On a keyboard, hold F and J (or ← and →).

Team play

Relay: start a team, pick The Cycle or 3-6-3 and 2, 3 or 4 players (each team size has its own board), and share the code. Each teammate plays one Swipe-mode leg on their own phone, whenever suits them (codes last 7 days). Your leg counts the first time you finish it. The legs add up to the team time, and once every leg is in you can post it to the relay board.

Doubles: two phones, live. One of you makes a room and the other joins with the code. When you're both ready there's a 3-2-1, then you take turns: one swipe each, like alternating hands. Fumbles cost the team +0.50s and you have to try that swipe again. The clock is shared and stops when the last swipe lands.

Your profile

To post times you need a profile: a name (nobody else can use it) and the month and year you were born. Tap 👤 on the home screen.

  • Your age group (6U, 8U … 18U, 19+) is worked out from your birthday, on the day you play, and moves up as you get older. Teams and doubles go in the oldest player's group.
  • Your birth month and year can't be changed once saved. Your name can, and your times keep up with it.
  • Got a new phone? Your profile shows a move code. Type it on the new phone to bring everything across.
